Mushrooms in White Wine Sauce

  • 250 grams Majestic Mushrooms Cremini or White Button mushrooms, quartered

  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped

  • Fresh thyme, dried will also do

  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • ½ cup dry white wine

  • ¾ cup vegetable stock

  • ½ cup cream or coconut cream

  • Oil


  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the mushrooms until browned.

  • Stir in the garlic, nutmeg, thyme and season with salt and pepper.

  • Add the all purpose flour and stir for 2-3 minutes.

  • Deglaze the pan with the white wine and let it reduce in half.

  • Stir in the vegetable stock and allow the sauce to reduce and thicken.

  • Finish with the addition of the cream or coconut cream.

  • Taste for seasoning and adjust accordingly.

  • Serve over some grilled chicken or a juicy steak
